A Rufous-banded Miner perched on a rock, preening. The Rufous-banded Miner (Geositta rufipennis) is an alpine bird, and prefers high altitude grassland or shrubland. This Miner was perched on a rock preening near a small alpine stream in Farellones in the Andes above Santiago. Elevation: 2395 m. Date added to IBC: February 16, 2019.
