Media notes
A pair of Rufous Horneros feeding their chicks in their mud nest. The Rufous Hornero (Furnarius rufus) is particularly common near human habitations and prefers open habitats. Rufous Horneros are mostly insectivorous, but also take some seeds. They are famous for their large oven-like nests made of clay, dung and some straw that are placed on tree branches, rooftops, window sills and a variety of other places. A pair of Rufous Horneros made their large mud nest on a ledge on the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas in Iguacu National Park in Brazil. Both parents visited the nest over the space of a few seconds to feed their chicks inside. Elevation: 214 m. Date added to IBC: February 21, 2019.
