Media notes
A Rufous Hornero sunbathing, then preening. The Rufous Hornero (Furnarius rufus) is particularly common near human habitations and prefers open habitats. Rufous Horneros are mostly insectivorous, but also take some seeds. They are famous for their large oven-like nests made of clay, dung and some straw that are placed on tree branches, rooftops, window sills and a variety of other places. This Hornero was sunbathing on the mown lawn of the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas in Iguacu National Park in Brazil. It suddenly stirred, preened itself, then walked away. Elevation: 214 m. Date added to IBC: February 17, 2019.
