A pair of Silver Teal swimming amongst milfoil. The Silver Teal (Spatula versicolor fretensis) is a dabbling duck that is widely distributed throughout southern South America and the Falkland Islands. In the Falklands Silver Teal occur in low numbers on freshwater ponds. They lay 6-10 eggs, and both parents care for their ducklings. This pair was swimming on Big Pond on Bleaker Island in the East Falklands. Elevation: 5 m. Date added to IBC: February 5, 2019.
