Media notes
A Magellanic Snipe feeding and preening in a grassed wheel rut on a track on Carcass Island. The South American or Magellanic Snipe (Gallinago paraguaiae magellanica) is common in the Falkland Islands but is easily overlooked because of it cryptic colouration and secretive habits. This snipe was feeding then preening in a grassed wheel rut on a track on Carcass Island on a very windy day. Elevation: 6 m. Date added to IBC: February 10, 2019.
