A male Southern Surucua Trogon – perching, calling, flying off. The Southern Surucua Trogon (Trogon surrucua) is a cryptic, shy bird that lives in the mid-level of primary and secondary rainforest. Southern Surucua Trogons mainly eat insects and also take some fruit. This male was perching and calling in thick forest on the Macuco Trail in Iguazu National Park, northern Argentina. Elevation: 218 m. Date added to IBC: February 20, 2019.
