Media notes
Tawny Frogmouth chicks on nest. The Tawny Frogmouth trio we have been following from late last year has laid a second clutch of three eggs. The male has mated with two females, who sit close by during the day while he stays at the nest with the three chicks. One of the chicks fell from the nest, and couldn't get back in, but was cared for by the adult birds. The other two chicks in this video are about half grown, and will begin flying at dusk in about a week. They defaecate over the edge of the flimsy nest. The male bird's tail is visible to the left of the nest. Elevation: 7 m. Date added to IBC: February 3, 2018.
