Media notes
A Two-banded Plover on the beach – watching for aerial predators. Two-banded Plovers (Charadrius falklandicus) are found in southern Argentina, Chile and the Falkland Islands. In the Falklands they are common in Diddle-dee heath, near freshwater ponds and on beaches where they hunt for flies and other small invertebrates amongst decaying algal wrack. This Two-banded Plover was standing on the beach at Lafonia Point, Bleaker Island, keeping a wary eye out for aerial predators. Elevation: 4 m. Date added to IBC: February 8, 2019.
