An alert female Upland Goose grazing on a road verge with her seven goslings. The mainland race of the Upland Goose (Chloephaga picta picta) is found from central Chile and Argentina south to Tierra del Fuego. The Upland Goose is the commonest Chloephaga goose species, and is exclusively vegetarian, feeding mainly on short grasses, seed heads and sedges. Upland Geese have also been reported to feed on green seaweeds. This alert female Upland Goose was grazing with her seven goslings on the road verge at Lake Pehoe in Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia. Elevation: 1264 m. Date added to IBC: March 14, 2019.
