A pair of Variegated Fairy-wrens foraging early on a morning after rain. The Variegated Fairy-wren (Malurus lamberti) species complex is the most widely-distributed of all Australian Fairy-wren species. The most widespread race (Malurus lamberti assimilis) ranges throughout the arid and semi-arid parts of Australia. This pair of Variegated Fairy-wrens was part of a family group foraging early on a morning after rain near the homestead on Wooleen Station in the semi-arid Murchison Region of Western Australia. Elevation: 293 m. Date added to IBC: July 2, 2019.
