A Wandering Albatross soaring at sea, east of the Falkland Islands. The Wandering Albatross (Diomedea exulans) has the greatest wingspan of any living bird and traverses an enormous area of the southern oceans from 28 to about 60 degrees south. These birds are globally threatened, many losing their lives by drowning after taking baited hooks from long-liners. Elevation: 0 m. Date added to IBC: February 10, 2019.
