A pair of Yellow-fronted Woodpeckers perching briefly, then flying away. Yellow-fronted Woodpecker (Melanerpes flavifrons) are found in south-eastern Brazil, northern Argentina and eastern Paraguay. They eat fruits and seeds and insects and prefer humid forest and altered landscapes such as orchards, palm groves and cane fields. This pair was in secondary forest on 101 Road near Iguazú National Park in Argentina. Elevation: 259 m. Date added to IBC: February 20, 2019.
