Legend Overview
Introduction
The Crimson-crowned Fruit-Dove is a medium-sized, green and gray fruit-dove with a distinctive, colorful patch in its forehead and crown, a trait that it shares with other closely related species in the genus. This adaptable species can be found in a variety of habitats across islands of Samoa and American Samoa, Fiji, and Tonga; from primary rainforest to agroforest and even near human settlements. On other islands; however, it is restricted to undisturbed, dense forests in the mountains. It is a generally common species, with a characteristic song made of both bisyllabic and trisyllabic notes.
