Eduardo de Juana

Eduardo de Juana (Pobla de Segur, Spain, 1951) was a Zoology lecturer and researcher at the Complutense and Autónoma universities, Madrid during 1975–2013. He has published numerous scientific papers during the course of his career as well as several books, these including a bird identification guide that is still very popular in Spain (de Juana, E. & Varela, J.M. 2005. Aves de España. Lynx) as well as a comprehensive account of the Iberian avifauna (de Juana, E. & Garcia, E.F.J. 2015. The birds of the Iberian Peninsula. Helm). He has devoted a great deal of effort to bird conservation, having been a member of the ICBP Executive Committee during 1990–1994. He was the former President of the Spanish Ornithological Society (SEO/BirdLife), he is a member of the International Ornithological Committee and an Honorary Fellow of the American Ornithologists’ Union, and he has been awarded the Medal of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB).
He now works at Lynx as the general coordinator of the HBW Alive project.
