Introduction

A medium-sized swallow found only in the high Andes, Andean Swallow is dark, glossy blue above with a grayish brown rump and underparts. It often forages over water, or around groups of grazing mammals. Although Andean Swallow is locally common, and sometimes nests under the eaves of buildings, it remains a very poorly known species.
