Family Asian Barbets (Megalaimidae)

Least Concern

Golden-throated Barbet (Psilopogon franklinii)

French: Barbu de Franklin German: Weißwangen-Bartvogel Spanish: Barbudo de Franklin

Bucco Franklinii

, 1842,

Until recently, considered conspecific with P. auricularis (which see). Race ramsayi appears morphologically rather distinctive#R; further research desirable. Proposed race tonkinensis (from N Vietnam) now considered inseparable from nominate; trangensis (from peninsular Thailand; known from only five specimens) and minor (Peninsular Malaysia) both regarded as indistinguishable from ramsayi. Two subspecies currently recognized.
