New species described in haste in two places#R, one with present name#R and one with name “digiacomoi#R; both descriptions contain information strongly indicative of the validity of the species, including its vocal distinctiveness, but only the first complies with ICZN requirements for valid publication. Monotypic.

Distribution:

NE Argentina (mainly Esteros del Iberá region, in Corrientes), and recorded also in Paraguay and SW Brazil (Mato Grosso do Sul)#R#R; non-breeding range unknown, probably in E Bolivia, C Brazil and N Paraguay.
