Validity of race coomansi questionable#R. Undescribed taxon recently found in Banggai Is may be a race of present species#R, but voice and plumage details suggest it might represent a separate species#R. Race sulaensis also judged distinct enough on plumage and voice to elevate to species rank#R, but differences need fuller exposition. Four subspecies recognized.
