#R Seram, Ambon and Boano.
Usually considered conspecific with D. perspicillata, but recent observers have noted its distinctiveness#R#R, based on its much paler grey head (3); typically much more bronzy-green back and wings (some birds lack this, but it may be an age-related character) (2); and different voice, reported#R as sounding like that of D. concinna, which occurs on small islands just off Seram (allow 2). It differs from D. concinna in its grey vs chestnut undertail-coverts (3), large white eyering (3), green vs grey mantle (2), and lack of vinous wash on hindneck (ns). Forms a species-group with D. perspicillata, D. aenea, D. oenothorax and D. concinna. Monotypic.
