Recently updated species

This is a list of the species whose texts have been thoroughly updated by the HBW Alive editors, making use of as much relevant information as possible from the available literature. A special effort is made to update the texts originally published in the first volumes of the Handbook of the Birds of the World.
To see the extent of the introduced changes, you can use the tools provided in the "Update History" box, available on each species page.
All of the “split” species from the Illustrated Checklist, Volume 1: Non-passerines have been updated.
