Identification
Scarce flycatcher found along the west slope of the Andes in northern and central Peru. Like other chat-tyrants, it features a black mask and a long white eyebrow. Chestnut wing stripes and the lack of any yellow in the eyebrow help separate it from other species in range. Inhabits dry and semi-humid forest. Typical song is a dry, toneless trill, sometimes with a staccato quality.
